a home not a house

My husband and I have been living in the same rental house for 6 years, saving money for a down payment, paying down debt, etc so we could buy house to call home. Our lease is very strict and we have  a small window of opportunity every year to buy a house during the spring before we would need to resign the lease for another year. This year he has sold the house, so we have to move regardless.Every year for the past 5 years this hasn’t worked out.In the Fall there was always one tragedy or another, losing jobs, I got cancer, which put us into a lot of debt, etc, which meant  less money for down payment that next Spring. This year we had a plan to pay down debt and get out of our lease in October, so we could buy a house in the Fall,  my daughter was getting married in early June, so there was no buying a house Spring 2018 in the cards. But then we found a house. I loved this house! It’s a big and old, and only an 11 minute walk from my daughters house! I couldn’t sleep after I saw the house because all I did was obsess about how can I make this work. The price kept dropping and even though we weren’t as prepared as we wanted to be, we went and got pre qualified and made an offer. Then the hard part, saving the down payment in a short time, while still trying to pay for my daughters wedding. Paying our regular bills, and paying down debt. It’s coming along, but not as well as we need it to.Additionally, we were originally doing a different type of loan, an fha 203k loan, which meant less down... well... that’s not working out so well, so it looks like now we need even more for the down payment than we were originally expecting because we are doing a traditional loan. I’ve raised my girls in this rental house for 6 years and it’s always felt like it’s suppose to be temporary.  I want to continue to raise them in a house that feels like home. I want to let them paint their bedrooms whatever color they want. Not the stark white walls of this rental house. I want us all to feel like we are home. We have a very short amount of time to get the down payment together... which is why we need help. We appreciate any amount you can donate, and ever bit goes toward the down payment. Also, the bank will match some of the funds! You can make your gift contingent upon us closing on the house too, so if something doesn’t work out, you get your money back with no fees or anything. There are no fees and we get 100% of your donation, which goes right to the mortgage company when we close. Thank you.
